WHAT IS A SURROGATE?

A surrogate is a woman who carries and gives birth to a child or children so that someone else can become a parent.

In gestational surrogacy, an embryo is transferred to a surrogate, which she is not biologically related to, and carries the baby to birth. The embryo may be created via egg or sperm donation or using the sperm or egg of the child’s intended father and/or mother.

The application process begins by gathering some information about you. To best match you with the perfect intended parents, surrogates need to answer some questions about themselves. Once you’ve completed the application process, a representative at Same Love Surrogacy will review it and contact you to determine next steps. The health and well-being for all parties involved is our top priority. Your SLS coordinator will help you figure out what information and medical records you will need. MEDICAL IVF APPOINTMENTS

Once contracts have been signed, it is time to begin medical procedures to prepare for the embryo transfer. The fertilized eggs are then transferred to you. A healthy pregnancy will then be confirmed with a healthy baby’s heartbeat. During the process, you will receive prenatal care, which will continue throughout the pregnancy. It is important you attend the scheduled appointments and have reliable transportation.

CONFIRMED PREGNANCY

Confirming you are indeed pregnant is great news for everyone involved. Your coordinator and you have done everything necessary to get to this huge milestone. It’s an exciting time! Because there are certain restrictions surrogates need to adhere to. Please answer the following:

The obstetrician and doctor will determine the baby is fully term. The Intended Parents will travel to the hospital you are at to be present for the delivery. In most cases, they will be outside in a reserved waiting area. When the baby is born it will receive an evaluation to ensure they are healthy. The Intended Parents will then get the chance to meet their child for the first time. Some of our surrogates share their pregnancy and delivery experiences.

Surrogacy compensation and expense reimbursement typically range between $50,000 to $60,000. A detailed breakdown of our surrogate compensation package will be provided by your surrogate coordinator. Repeat surrogate fees (for a second or subsequent surrogacy) may be higher. Please keep in mind that these are only estimates and vary from situation to situation.
