10 Jun Always Full of Pride, Especially for Father’s Day
June is here! The days are getting longer and the temperatures are getting hotter. The start of summer is upon us! As we look forward to all the activities summer has to offer, we also look forward to the things we celebrate in June, like Pride and Father’s Day. Since both are very important to us, we would like to take a moment to reflect about what each of those mean to us here at SLS.
In 1970, the first Pride parade was held in June in remembrance of the Stonewall riots. Since then, the month of June has come to be known as the month of Pride. This month is a time for those in the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to celebrate who they are and what they believe in. Rainbows, parades, music and gatherings are scattered throughout the nation.
Although many businesses do take this time to show that they are LGBTQ+ friendly, often with rainbow themed merchandise and inclusive marketing, it is often just reserved for the month of June. However, here at Same Love Surrogacy we are not only LGBTQ+ friendly, but we are also supportive of the community, year-round. As you can tell from the name of our company, we specialize in surrogates and egg donors for same-sex couples, although we do have clients from other walks of life as well. In addition, we are very involved with the organization Men Having Babies. We work together with them at conferences, help fundraise for them and assist dad’s and dad’s-to-be through them. In short, we are dedicated to not only being friendly to the community but helping those in it to thrive in their role as parents, by providing the means for them to become parents. We help to pair he/him members of the LGBTQ+ community with egg donors and surrogates that can provide the biological parts needed to create life and help them become fathers. In fact, our owners are a happily married, same-sex couple who have used egg donors and surrogates to become dads themselves.
Next weekend, they, along with many of our clients, will be able to celebrate with their children and each other the joy of being dads on Father’s Day. They will all be able to take a moment to realize the gift they are in each other’s lives and feel the fulfillment of being a parent. We strongly believe that those who feel the call to become a father should also have an opportunity to pursue that call, and we work hard to make that a reality for them. If you have heard the call to become a parent and want our help to create this opportunity for you, please give us a call to discuss your options.
